Clam Fettucine with Wine Sauce


1/2lb clams

2in ginger - thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1.5 cup white wine
1/2 cup water
Tomato - cubed
Salt, pepper & sugar
Cooked fettucine



1. Sauteed the thinly sliced ginger with some olive oil, add abt 1.5 cup of white wine and half-cup water until it boils.

2. Add the clam and cubed tomatos, cover for about 3-4min. Uncover, add salt, sugar and pepper to taste and stir for another 1-2min.

3. Pour on top of cooked fettuccine.

Ginger? Hmmm....that's something new to Fettucine Vongole. And I think I like the idea :)

Rita, im sure they wud esp if u use all wine and skip the water. lol.

Tigerfish, i loved the taste of ginger w wine sauce. u shud try it.

Amboi-amboi Cik Farina, sedapnya. I always use chicken broth instead of using wine but it won't be wine sauce anymore :). It still taste good tho..

One day, when I am not lazy to cook 2 dishes at one time, I will try this. Looks good, easy to make and I am sure it tastes good too.

YUM-YUM-YUM! Vongole is my all-time favorite pasta dish, can order 4 times a week! I'll try your recipe when I find those elusive clams. :)

Rita, is it easier to find seafood there? the last 2 times iv been to the asian stores, no prawns or squids or crabs are available. at all! didn check the clams section tho.

Farina ... I am not sure it is is easier or not but I haven't had difficulty buying seafood here except clams. Most suppliers carry mussels which I don't like.

Rita, i kno wht u mean. mussels meat abit chewy kan? i just bot 2 packs of kerang. (cockles?) plan nak buat ckt. will see how tht turns out. lol.
